Barbara G. Barry, 92, of West Haven, CT, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Barry for 68 years until his death in 2022. Barbara was born in New Haven, December 21, 1932, daughter of the late Primo and Alberta (Rivoli) Giacobbi. Barbara was a 1950 graduate of West Haven High School and attended the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac College. She worked for the West Haven Parks and Recreation Department for 25 years, retiring in 1994 as the Director. She was instrumental in expanding the recreational opportunities for young girls and started the first recreational summer camp in West Haven for children with special needs called Tall Oaks. She served on many Boards and Committees. After retirement she continued to serve as a Board member of The Land Trust of West Haven and West Haven's Conservation and Open Space Commission. She is survived by her daughters Barbara and Joi, four grandchildren, Frank (Olga), Mario, Barbie, and Sophia, and two great-grandchildren, Daria and Demetrio.
