Barbara Ann Funaro

FUNARO, BARBARA ANN Barbara Ann (Zampano) Funaro, 73, of East Haven, passed away the morning of February 16th at Connecticut Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed while surrounded by her children and family. Barbara, also known as "Bobbie" by her closest friends and family, was born on July 21st in New Haven. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and loyal friend. She was predeceased by her parents: Louis & Helen (Wilchinski) Zampano of East Haven. Barbara is survived by her three loving sons: Frank II and Diane (Bruder) Funaro of East Haven, Michael and Karen (Winblad) Funaro of East Haven, Brian Funaro and his fiance Melissa VanTine of Branford. Barbara was a proud grandmother of Jessica, Frank III, Matthew and Haylee Funaro all of East Haven. Barbara is also survived by brother, Joseph Zampano of East Haven. Barbara graduated from East Haven High School in 1957. She most enjoyed time with her family, trips to the casino, and Sunday lunch with TM. Barbara was down to earth and had a realistic way of looking at life. She was somebody you could depend upon for unconditional love, humor and solid advice. Barbara will be remembered for her sarcastic sense of humor, her style, french toast, making a bad situation a good laugh, giving detailed directions, and more especially for her love and commitment to her grandchildren. Barbara's family would like to thank the staff of CT Hospice of Branford for the care and compassion they showed our mom at the end of her life.
