Brenda Joyce Ranciato, affectionately known as "Grandma Binky," passed peacefully in her sleep on April 22, 2025, she was 83.
Born on March 7, 1942, in New Haven, Connecticut, Brenda grew up with a heart full of kindness and a spirit that lit up every room. For decades, she made her home at 371 Durham Road in Guilford, Connecticut, where she raised a loving family and welcomed all with open arms.
Brenda was the devoted wife of Kenneth Ranciato and the cherished mother of Kenneth Jr. and wife, Barbra, Richard, Craig, and Kelly and wife, Hidie Ranciato. Her legacy lives on through her adoring grandchildren: Kirsten, Craig, Matthew, Julia, Nicholas, and Gabrielle Ranciato; and her great-grandchildren: Bella, Mia, Sterling, Aria Goglia, and Breille Ranciato. Big sister to Robert, Jack, Frannie, and David Gootkin, all very dear to her heart.
Family was Brenda's greatest treasure-her love boundless, her hugs legendary. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, she poured her heart into every moment shared with those she held dear.
Beyond her home, Brenda's compassion reached far. She gave generously of her time at the Guilford Monastery, where the nuns affectionately dubbed her "Sister Brenda." Her quiet acts of service touched countless lives, a testament to her faith and her joy in helping others.
A celebration of Brenda's beautiful life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint George Catholic Church in Guilford, Connecticut. A reception will follow in the church hall, where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the remarkable woman who meant so much to so many.
