Condolences to Bruce's Family. It was a pleasure to work with Bruce and his associates at the offices of Roche-Dinkeloo on the creation of the Knights of Columbus Museum, first located within the Home Office and dedicated in 1982, Bruce was always professional, thorough, and attuned to detail. May he Rest in Peace.

Bruce was my Job Captain when I joined Eero Saarinen office in1969. We worked together on several projects including the Saint Louis Arch where he was instrumental in its completion. He was an excellent Architect and a very nice person.

We send our condolences to the Detmers and extended family. I remember Mr. Detmers and his support for Bruce Jr. at our hockey games. He was always dapper and drove that nice little Porsche. Years later, I told him I was living in the Midwest. We got to discussing all the fascinating projects he worked on with Eero Saarinen. He worked on or was associated with places like, Ingalls Rink at Yale (which I think he said brought him to the New Haven area), St Louis Arch, Technical Center at General Motors, War Memorial Center in Milwaukee and TWA terminal at Kennedy Airport. He was a fascinating, nice man. Rest in Peace.

Bruce Detmers was always a a distinctively encouraging and wise to me during my years as youth director with his son, Bruce, Jr. Along with Betty and Holly, when she was home from college, Bruce was always a leading voice in Dunbar United Church entire ministry. I thank God for Bruce Detmers! May God comfort Betty, Holly, and Bruce, Jr. in these days.

Bruce was always a vital and supportive part of Dunbar United Church. He and Betty gave many words of encouragement and actions of joyful assistance to our youth ministry during my years as youth director.
