Charles Altieri

Altieri, Charles F. (Chick) Charles Francis "Chick" Altieri, 65, of Northford, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Haven, November 30, 1946 to the late Louis and Lottie Altieri. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Annetta Capuano Altieri, his 2 children, Pamela Altieri-Paterra (Scott) of Burbank, CA, and Louis Stephen Altieri (Bridget) of Branford, 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter and Logan Paterra and Sydney Altieri, his 2 sisters, Lenore J. Carrone (Anthony) and her companion Edward Caso of North Haven and Patricia Basilicato (Felice) of Northford. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Joanne D'Angelo (Thomas), his brothers-in-law, John Capuano, Frank Capuano Jr. (Linda), Richard Capuano, 12 nieces and 4 nephews. Charles went to Eli Whitney and Wilbur Cross High Schools. He worked as an auto mechanic at Silvestro's Garage and Globe Ford. He was office manager at Diamond Auto Group before his retirement. He was a member of the Umberto II Club for 35 years, serving on the Board of Directors in many different positions. He was an avid photographer with a great eye for detail and color. His photographs won many ribbons in local events. He loved to cook and could reproduce almost any dish he ever tasted, and it usually turned out better than the original. Charles was passionate about wine, he enjoyed tasting it, sharing it, and even making his own blend. He loved traveling to California to visit the wine country annually almost as much as visiting his grandchildren. His funeral will leave the LUPINSKI FUNERAL HOME, 821 State Street, New Haven SATURDAY morning at 9:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stanislaus Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
