Beirnard, Charles Armand – Much-loved husband of Antonia Moras and father of Erin and Michael died at home, surrounded by his family, October 20, 2025, in Guilford, Connecticut. Charles, Chuck, was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, April 21, 1944, the son of Cesar Beirnard and Evelyn Wilde Beirnard. He moved to Connecticut in 2009 to be closer to family, after retiring from the faculty of the University of Alaska Anchorage. He held degrees from the University of Wisconsin and The Ohio State University and had also taught Ohio State and Heidelberg University in Ohio, as well as in Tehran, Iran. Chuck loved his family, his pets, his work, his books, and his gardening and landscaping. He traveled widely across this country and others, with a special affinity for the Mediterranean. He lived with kindness and laughter and gave himself quietly to many positions of service. He is survived by his wife and children, and many friends and students. A memorial service is being held in Guilford, Saturday November 1. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter in Branford.
