Charlotte Kinney Obituary

Charlotte Kinney
Charlotte (D'Agostino) Kinney, 68, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, at Hartford Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Haven on April 27th, 1955, she was the daughter of George D'Agostino, Sr. and the late Mary (Gelagotis) D'Agostino. Charlotte was a graduate of North Haven High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the former Southern Connecticut State College. She worked as a Children's Service Consultant for the State of Connecticut for many years until her retirement. After retirement she volunteered her time for many different organizations. She enjoyed gardening, writing letters, reading, and loved driving her car to many different places, at many times just to get a lobster roll. Mother of Thomas W. Kinney. Sister of Lisa Davis (Scott), George D'Agostino, Jr. and the late Theresa Grasso. Also survived by three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her father's companion Sally Farrell. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Irene and Zoraida for their loving help and comfort they provided to Charlotte over the past few months.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Tuesday morning, July 11th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101. The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue have been entrusted with the arrangements. www.northhavenfuneral.com

Charlotte, I know we didn´t talk or get together often over the past many years, but each time we did, it seemed like we had just seen each other the day before. I´m glad that we were able to talk many times during the past year. With each conversation, you brightened my day. I offer deeply heartfelt condolences to your family and friends. As my lifelong friend, you´ve been like a sister to me, and I am broken-hearted over your passing. Rest in peace, Charlotte. I will miss you.

I am so deeply sorry to hear this. I have spoken with her frequently in the past few months and spent a lovely day with her driving around while she reminisced and showed me her favorite spots. I will miss her. I am out of the country and so sorry I cannot be there. Charlotte was a woman of integrity, faith and loyalty. Rest in peace my friend. Tommy, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Love to you and the family.
