Daniel Weller Klein passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family and friends at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee on June 26, 2021. He was the beloved son of Jerome Klein, (deceased) and Sylvia Weller Fish (deceased), loving father of Jerome Klein (Tiana) and Jackie Babat (Brett), devoted brother of Macky Miller, devoted grandfather of 6 grandchildren, favorite uncle of Betsy Cohen and Steven Miller, beloved friend of Carmen Delia and Kristen Klein, the best dog parent to Pippa and Remy, with gratitude to his devoted caregiver May Hayes.
Danny resided in Nashville, TN for the past three years where a private service was held on Sunday, June 27th. He will be laid to rest next to his mother in a private ceremony at Mishkan Israel Cemetery, New Haven .Memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society or Animal Shelter. Danny,
One of the kindest, quirkiest gentleman I ever knew. I've never met a guy with so much energy. God Bless this giving man. He gave smiles to so many patients at Smilow Center and beyond. I'm so lucky he was a friend. Bless you forever.

I am so sad to see this now. What a loving and giving man I am so grateful to have known and spent lots of fun times with throughout the late 90's on. My last visit while waiting for my sister to come out of surgery at YNHH. Danny giving his time visiting patients with his darling pup. Love you Danny. RIP God Speed

To all who have been so thoughtful, if I could respond to each, individually, I would do so. Rest assured we are reading and rereading your beautiful words and cherishing every one of them. You´ve made it apparent that whether you knew Danny your whole life or whether that friendship was relatively new, it didn´t take you long to figure out what a genuinely good person he was. Nor did it take you long to enjoy his humor.
His entire family and I, his sister, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the comfort your notes have brought us. How wonderful that every one of us can smile whenever we think of our special Danny.

I am so sorry to hear of Danny´s passing... it feels like I just talked to him yesterday. He was a beloved friend of my grandfather; Robert Goodman. I have a lot of fond memories of him throughout my upbringing. Sending much love and prayers to his family and his fur babies.

Danny was a cherished companion to my Sister for many years. For that reason, he was part of our family unit and we are saddened to hear of his transition. Yet, we feel Gratitude for the love, care, and devotion he modeled through the years and especially remember his gregariousness, kitschy humor and deep love of animals along with his heartfelt, open handed philanthropy. We will miss him.
