Dennis Camputaro, age 44, beloved son of Catherine Moran Camputaro, of West Haven, and Ralph L. Camputaro (Marlene), of North Branford, passed away October 4th, 2022.
He was born in New Haven, July 30th, 1978. He was the owner and operator of Camputaro and Son Excavating Company, which his father started in 1978. Dennis was happiest as a small child sitting under the deck, playing with his construction toys. Later, going with his dad looking at jobs. In addition to his parents, he leaves a stepbrother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends who were like family.
Dennis was known for his wit and willingness to help others.
Visitation will be held at Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, on Wednesday at 7:30 AM - 9:45 AM. Mass will be held at St. Louis Church of St. John XXIII Parish on 89 Bull Hill Ln., West Haven, CT, at 10:30 AM.
Burial will be held on a later date in private.

As a little kid, I remember being beside myself with excitement on Thanksgiving--not for the turkey or pie, but because my cooler, older cousin Dennis would always take my sisters and me to go see the ducks that frequented the creek in his backyard. We'd toss them pieces of bread and Dennis would pick us up and pretend to throw us in the water. We loved it. And we loved him. He made our childhood so special, and I'll miss him very much. Aunt Cathy and Ralph, I'm so sorry. He was one of a kind.
