GREGORIO, DENNIS F. After a 7 month courageous battle, Dennis F. Gregorio, age 64, of West Haven, CT, passed from the arms of his wife into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the devoted husband of “the life of his love”, Michele (Pero) Gregorio. Loved deeply by his surviving family members, mother Jeannette Brown; brother Frank (Sharon) Gregorio; sister Maureen (Joseph) Rogalis; and father of Dennis B (Sonni) Gregorio. Also survived by his beautiful nieces, Michelle (John) Pavia; Rachel (Marty) Zajac; and Lesley Massey. Nephew of Henry (Shirley) Tourangeau. He will be greatly missed by his many cousins and great niece and nephews. In addition to his immediate family, Dennis was cherished by his in-laws, Michael (Carla) Pero and their daughters and Christopher Cellini Sr and his sons. He was predeceased by his father, Frank Gregorio; his step-father Joseph Mastrosimone; his sister-in-law Maureen Cellini and his wife’s parents, Michael and Gloria Pero. Dennis will be fondly remembered by his step-children, Christopher Pero, Brett (Alexis) Walter, Richard (Andrea) Walter; Candace Walter; and Melissa (Jason) Wilson along with their children, Jonathan Walter; Avery, Sage and Harper Wilson; and Dylan and Brody Walter. Dennis was well known and respected in the copier business, recently retiring from Remarketing Solutions International of Orange CT this past March due to his illness. He also was known and loved around town as DJ Dennis where he shared his wonderful talents, great voice and Jolson style entertainment with many people, especially the regulars at Off Shore Restaurant, his Elk brothers and sisters, and the Beach People. Dennis was also a professional musician in his earlier years, playing drums and singing with cover bands. His incredible joyful energy and love of music was felt by all those who were either in his audience or by his fellow musicians who gigged with him. Dennis was a member of the West Haven Elks, Lodge 1537 and the Polish American Club. The family would like to thank the following doctors, nurses, aides and staff for the tremendous care, compassion and support over these last months: Dr. Johanna LaSala, Orange Smilow Cancer Center; Dr Colin Watson, Family Physicians of West Haven; Yale New Haven Hospital, St Raphael Campus SLA 3, MICU Verdi 3 and the Emergency Dept. CT Hospice, Seasons Hospice and New England Home Care and the EMT’s of the West Shore Fire Department and American Medical Response. Thank you also to our extended family, friends, band mates, neighbors and co-workers for your kindness and many prayers. Dennis had a special energy and vitality for life. The illness never stole his heart, mind or soul, and for that gift, the family that he loved so much will be forever grateful. As Dennis our music man would say: “Feel the love” A wake will be held at the Iovanne Funeral Home, 11 Wooster Place, New Haven on Monday, September 21, 2015 between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael’s Church, 29 Wooster Place, New Haven at 10:00 a.m. the next day, Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
