Donald Crouch Obituary

CROUCH, DONALD R. Donald R. Crouch, 67, of Branford died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Yale–New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Marie Coleman Crouch. Mr. Crouch was born January 2, 1947, in Bristom, WV, son of the late Carnie and Edna Thompson Crouch. He worked in sales and service for Cintas Corporation for 31 years, retiring in 2010. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Dawn Crouch-Klarman of Branford and Jason (Laura) Crouch of North Haven; his grandchildren, who were the lights of his life, Karissa and Kaylyn Klarman, and Joshua and Hunter Crouch; his siblings, Wanda Raimer of Warren, TX, Danny (Debbie) Crouch of Kissimmee, FL, David Crouch of Greenwood, WV, Darrell (Debbie) Crouch of East Haven, Brenda Jarrell of Greenwood, WV, Violet Ferreira of East Haven, and Vicki Vece of Greenwood; sister-in-law Margaret (Bill) Gouin, brother-in-law Dan (Jo-Ann) Coleman and his mother-in-law Antoinette Coleman, and several nieces and nephews, including his goddaughter Kyleen Ferreira, and his niece and private nurse Laurie Gouin-Crouch, RN, who took such great care of him. His family would also like to thank his close friends Ron and Terry O’Brien for all of their love and support. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Larry (Uncle Bud) Crouch and his sister Betty Shinnebery. Donald, a.k.a. “Pa” or Uncle Donald to many, will be remembered as the heart and soul of his family, happiest just hanging in his back yard with his family and friends, or spending his summers in Block Island. Donald always had a big smile and welcomed you like you were his family, a simple guy who never judged and accepted everyone. A great husband, brother, loving father and grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.

RIP PA!! It was never a dull moment with you. Always doing good deeds for people and being the funniest guy we know!! You welcomed absolutely everyone as if they were your family. You taught us a lot about life & we'll never forget it. Never did you fail to put a smile on anyone's face. If you wanted a laugh or a party your house was the place for it. We will always remember you as the life of the party!
