Elizabeth Clorite Obituary

Clorite, Elizabeth M.
Cheerful, dedicated mother of six, grandmother to 11, one great-grandchild, and beloved wife of 66 years. Elizabeth M. Clorite, 87, passed October 28, 2018 surrounded by her beloved husband Phil of 66 years, who never left her side, and their six children. Bette was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret O'Connor Moran of Fall River, MA, brothers Bill, Dan and John Moran, and her sister Peggy Harrington. Born October 31, 1930 in Fall River, MA, Bette attended high school, Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River, MA, where she captained her sports team. Bette attended Notre Dame College of Baltimore, Maryland. She was a local Realtor for the Powell/Gould and Shoreland agencies for many years in Madison. Bette was dedicated to her six children and to her beloved husband Phil. For over 64 years, she tirelessly supported and attended every function, athletic and arts performance involving her children and grandchildren. She greeted everyone with a cheerful smile. Bette enjoyed a cheerful disposition with a sharp wit. She never spoke negatively about anyone and she never complained. Loved by all, Bette made everyone feel special. Bette's kitchen table was frequently occupied by neighbors and friends. It was not uncommon for family to return home and find Bette's round kitchen table fully occupied. She always took the time to listen. Bette's kitchen was also the harbor of refuge for all without a place to be on holidays. It was not uncommon to host (and feed) 40+ people on these special days. All were welcome with a smile. Besides her family, Bette's passion was boating to every harbor from Maine to Burlington, VT. She was an active member in the Baldwin and North Cove yacht clubs for over 45 years where she made lifelong friends. Bette was an avid supporter of the UCONN Women's basketball program. Bette and Phil had season tickets for years and attended many functions with the players. They traveled to San Antonio, Texas to passionately watch their Huskies win the National Championship in 2010. Bette was also a world traveler. She traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, North and South America. Whether it was body surfing outside of Tokyo, hiking in British Columbia, or sailing in the Caribbean, Bette was always game for the challenge. Survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Philip A. Clorite of Madison, and 6 children, Michael Clorite of North Haven, CT, Linda Caisse of North Kingstown, RI, Philip Clorite of Stonington, CT, William Clorite of Madison, CT, Timothy Clorite of Saunderstown, RI, Christine St. Claire of Winthrop, ME, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. directly in St. Margaret's Church, with a reception to follow. A Service will also be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Waring-Sullivan Funeral Home in Fall River, MA at 9 a.m. Immediately burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River, MA, a reception will follow.
