Johnson, Fielding, Jr. Fielding Johnson, Jr., 84, of New Haven, CT who quietly transitioned Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at YNHH surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Johnson was born to the late Fielding, Sr. and Harriet Johnson in Brazoria, Texas on January 13, 1929. He was the husband of Eunice Watts Johnson. He worked at Winchester Repeating Arms for more then 27 years and Safety Electric for 10 years before retiring in 1990. A World War II veteran receiving an honorable discharge in 1953. He was a member of Widows Son Lodge #1 P.H.A. Mr. Johnson was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, serving on the Boards of Deacons, and President of the Men’s Club. He also served as an ombudsman for the New Haven Club of The National Association of The Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons Fielding Johnson III M.D. (Robyn) of Glastonbury, CT. Arnold K. Johnson of New Haven, CT, 5 brothers , 1 sister of Texas, 5 god -daughters, 1 godson and host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister. A ceremony of celebration of his life will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 10 am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel Street in New Haven, CT. Calling hours from 9 am until time of service.
