Gabriel Testo

TESTO, GABRIEL A. Gabriel A. Testo, 93, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, at River Glen Health Care in Southbury. Mr. Testo was born in Derby on March 26, 1920, son of the late Henry and Antoinette Pucella Testo. A proud veteran, he honorably served during WW II in the U.S. Army, receiving the prestigious Purple Heart. He resided in Woodbury for over 20 years and after retiring from the post office, where he served on the postal trains for many years, he was employed as a machine operator at Kerite Corp. in Seymour until his final retirement. Following his retirement, he spent many years living in Scranton, PA. An extremely religious man, he was a devoted and the oldest member of St. Michael's Parish in Scranton, where he became close friends with Rev. Jose Zepeda. Gabe also developed relationships with several parishioners and community residents. He is survived by a loving brother, Henry G. Testo (Maureen) of Seymour, several nieces and nephews, especially, Christine Cooper (Dan) of Seymour and Roselinda Cavallaro (Karl Brumbaum) of Prospect and several great nieces, great nephews and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Carlo, John, and Joseph Testo and sisters, Josephine Testo and Mary Radizeski. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 5-8 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 10:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Army military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter's Cemetery in Derby.
