Gaetano "Guy" Villano
Gaetano "Guy" Villano, 82, of Derby passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 in Yale New Haven Hospital where he had worked for more than 50 years as Director of the Internal Printing Department. He was also the owner of G. Villano Printing. Guy was the husband of Linda Porga Villano.
Guy was born in New Haven on March 10, 1943 to the late John and Mary Fisco Villano. He was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and began work at WNHC radio. He was also a member of the doo-wop musical group "The Barry's". Guy had a great passion for music and could recall the names of all the groups when he heard them. He enjoyed gardening and sports cars and was passionate about his cooking. He made all the classic dishes for his family and friends and would always have the best family gatherings, making wonderful memories, especially during the holidays. Guy also loved photography, capturing many of those wonderful family moments. He knew everyone and everyone loved him.
He is survived by his son Mark Villano and his wife Megan, his granddaughter Kara Rivera and her husband Jose Samuel and great-grandfather of Christian Samuel Rivera. Brother-in-law of Richard Porga and his wife Noree and Frank Porga and uncle of Kathleen Brown, Tracy Maselli, Daniel, Krissy and Jennifer. He was predeceased by a sister Anne Marie Wrinn and brothers Marshall and John Villano.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 4th from 4-7 p.m. in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Place, New Haven. Relative and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Michael McGiveney Parish at St. Michael Church Friday at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be in Mount St. Peter's Cemetery, Derby.
