Pat- George was one of my favorite people I worked with while supervising the Elementary Reading Consultants for the Stratford Public Schools. When I sought his advice, he was always supportive and had good concrete suggestions for how we might bring about change and move our reading program forward. In particular, during an elementary book talk that I gave which included several books about children with gay and lesbian parents, George spoke strongly for elementary reading material which would help children learn to read and also to understand the diversity of the world around them. I am eternally grateful to George for those supportive and kind words during that presentation. Dr.Philip Devine

I am so sad to hear of the death of George. I remember him with fond memories from working with him at Eli Whitney School. He was a kind and gentle man. I will always remember him with love and kindness when I was going through a family break-up and at our Whitney end of the year picnic he took the time to play baseball with my son and 2 daughters and put smiles on their faces. His love of reading has been instilled in all the students he worked with so diligently. George, Linda and Pat say a prayer for us all! Love, peace and comfort to his family. He will live on through all of you and all your great memories. God bless!
