Harold E. Ginter, Jr.
Harold E. Ginter, Jr., 93, of North Haven, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Harold was born on April 2, 1932 in New Haven, son of the late Harold E. Ginter, Sr. and Doris Smith Ginter. He graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1950 and from Quinnipiac University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting Cum-laude. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years in 1950 during the Korean War. After discharge, Harold worked as a bookkeeper for 2 years and then worked for Seward & Monde, CPA's for 14 years and was a partner with the firm. He opened his own CPA practice in 1974 for 18 years. He merged his practice with T.M. Byxbee Company CPA's in 1992 until his retirement in 1995. Harold is a lifetime member of the American Institute and Connecticut Society of CPA's.
Harold was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford and sang in the church choir for over 65 years. In addition, her served on the Stewardship Committee and was Chairman of the Trustees. He served as President of the Wallingford YMCA. Harold was a member of the North Haven Rotary Club for over 55 years and was selected as Rotarian of the Year in 1979 and 2008. He served as the Treasurer of the North Haven Rotary Foundation for over 45 years and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
Harold enjoyed the many years he traveled with his wife and family throughout the United States and the Caribbean Islands. He especially remembers traveling to Aruba for 20 years to visit his timeshare. Harold also enjoyed bowling for over 20 years and was an avid fan of the UConn Women's basketball team and the New York Giants football team.
He is survived by a daughter Betsy Sue Eisenman (Robert), son Kurt Ginter (Lynn) and Brett Ginter (Karen), grandchildren Kristin Eisenman, Bryan Eisenman (Gina), and Matthew Eisenman (Dorothy), Shawn Ginter (Hillary) and Allison Hoagland (Jason), and great-grandchildren Tim and Brianna Hoagland, Emilia, Elaina, Cameron and Payton Eisenman, and brothers Dave Ginter (Sandra), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Harold was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, after 60 years of marriage together and his brother Bill Ginter.
The visiting hour will be Thursday, Dec. 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery.
