LEVINSON, HERBERT S.Herbert ("Herb") S. Levinson, age 92, husband of Sally Levinson and long-time New Haven resident, passed away February 17, 2017. He was born September 1925 in Chicago, son of the late Israel Levinson and Tillie Gash Levinson and sister of the late Pearl Goldenberg. Herb worked as a transportation consultant and was a member of Mishkan Israel in Hamden. He was a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a past member of the Transportation Research Board Executive Committee. In 2013, the Illinois Institute of Technology awarded Herb an honorary doctorate. He received the Presidential Design Award for Excellence in 1994. Herb is survived by wife Sally of Wallingford, nieces Dr. Donna Goldenberg Feldman, Debra Goldenberg, niece-in-law Carole Kaplan Goldenberg, nephew-in-law David Feldman, two grand nieces Dr. Sara Feldman and Caren Feldman, seven grand nephews Michael Feldman, Ben Goldenberg, Jonathan Feldman, Russell Goldenberg, Steven Feldman, Daniel Goldenberg, and Eric Feldman, and two step-sons Dr. Joel Hasbrouk and Brian Hasbrouk.Graveside Services will be held on Sunday morning Feb. 19 at 10:30 o'clock at the Mishkan Israel Cemetery,80 Jewell St. New Haven, CT.
