Irene Riles-Jordan Obituary
Irene Elizabeth Brown Riles-Jordan passed away Fri. Oct. 17, 2025. She was born in Montross, VA to the late Allen Brown and Pearl McKinney-Brown on Nov. 10, 1933. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Samuel Parker.
Irene was employed at the VA Hospital in West Haven as a Nursing Assistant f. She was also an Administrative Assistant to the Director, State of Conn. Dept. of Social Services, retiring after many years of service.
Irene became a member of Trinity Temple COGIC in 1976. She loved to praise God for He has done great things for her. She was a member of the choir and was secretary to many departments. She was also a member of the Helping Hand Club and NAACP.
Irene leaves to mourn, daughter, Lagreta Riles; grandchildren, Aleta Kerr (David), Nakashia Riles, Shanna Solomon, and John Solomon, Jr., and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by, husbands, Ulysses Riles and Curtis Jordan; parents; five sisters;; and six brothers. She asked that a special thank you be sent to her nieces Yvonne Jones (deceased) and Dianne Thompson.
A celebration of her life will take place Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Temple COGIC, 285 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Friday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Services by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511.
