James Edward Kelvey, 90, of Wallingford, loving husband of the late MaryJane (McCauley) Kelvey, passed away December 3, 2025 at Midstate Medical Center.
He was born in New Haven on August 26, 1935, a son of the late George and Florence (Hanks) Kelvey. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. James worked for 35 years as a press operator for the New Haven Register until his retirement.
Jim, is survived by his daughters, Kim Sevarino and her husband, Kevin, Pamela Johnson and her husband, Clayton, and Michele Albert and her husband, Brian; his grandchildren, James Burghoff (Mikayla), Christopher Burghoff, Craig Johnson (Lauren), Spencer Johnson, Kaleigh Albert, Zachary Albert, Michael Sevarino (Marlyse), Nicholas Sevarino and Laura Vogt (Phil); great-grandchildren Michaela, Lucas, Hailey, Justin and Eva, his sister Yvonne Brede and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Brian Kelvey.
Jim was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved his vegetable garden and working on his beloved home. Jim was always ready for card game of setback. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed many wonderful family vacations in Rhode Island.
Jim's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext. on Wednesday, Dec. 10th, from 4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Interment at All Saints Cemetery will be private.
