In New Haven, April 14, 2025, James J. Sandillo 95, of Hamden. Husband of the late Jayne Fiengo Sandillo. Loving father of Edward Grund Jr. (Carol Ann) of E. Lyme, Sheryl Weber of Prospect, Jayne Palley of Somerset, NJ and Sandra Pallotto (Anthony) of East Haven. Long time loving companion of Irene Melotto of Hamden. Also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Grund, Edward Grund, III (Mary), Joseph DellaSelva (Colleen), Ashley Kataja (Michael), Parker Weber (Rosetta), Gabrielle Goldstein (Adam), Nikki Pallotto, Dillion Pallotto, great-granddaughters, Sydney and Alexa Grund and Bridger Weber and great-grandsons, JD and Dillon DellaSelva, his niece, Sheila Apicella (Gil) and their daughters, Sheila and Denise, and nephews, John Finkle, III (Catherine) and James Finkle (Katherine) and many grand and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, and sisters, Alice Sandillo and Lucille Finkle. Mr. Sandillo was born in New Haven, CT, February 14,1930, son of the late James and Emma Sandillo. James proudly served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Airforce. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for the Teamsters. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Club, both in Hamden. His funeral will Leave Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial in All Saints Cemetery.
