JESSE JAMES "JAY" HAMBLIN Jr.

1940 - 2017

HAMBLIN, JESSE JAMES (JAY) JRJesse James (Jay) Hamblin, Jr., age 76 of Milford, beloved husband of almost 50 years to Helen Kowaleski Hamblin, passed away January 19, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital with Helen by his bedside. Jay was born in Bridgeport, August 19, 1940, son of the late Jesse and Elizabeth Smith Hamblin Sr. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kelly Moughal and her husband Muhammad Saleem of New York; his beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Adom Moughal, both of whom he gave a thumbs up to, meaning everything is ok; his sister, Elizabeth (Bunny) Pember and her husband Harry of Milford; his nephews, D.J., Jon, Chris, and Travis; and many cousins, especially John (Jack) Hamblin. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew, Richard, and Timothy Hamblin. During his life, he worked as an architect with his father for Hamblin Associates and later as ID Design Group. He was always ready with pens, pencils, and architect and engineering scales in his shirt pocket ready to design or draw at a moment's notice. He loved watching the N.Y. Giants, N.Y. Yankees, and UConn Huskies. He served as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army National Guard and was an associate member of the American Institute of Architects, a lifetime member of Presidential Families of America, and a lifetime member of Bench and Bar Son and Daughter of the Colonial and Antebellum.All arrangements and interment will be private.
