John David Burnell Sr.

BURNELL, JOHN DAVID, SR. John David Burnell, Sr., 73, of Seymour the beloved husband of Patricia Gibson Burnell for 55 years entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 26, 2014 peacefully at home. He was born in Colchester, VT, on July 13, 1940, the beloved son of the late Robert and Theresa Pecor Burnell. John was a retired carpet mechanic for BKM of Bridgeport. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and coin collecting. John loved being with his family and especially his cherished grandchildren and cherished great grandchildren. He moved to Seymour from Shelton in 1976. John will be sadly missed by his family and friends. His loving family in addition to his beloved wife Patricia, includes, his caring son, Paul D. Burnell (Megan) of Titusville, FL and his beloved brothers, Frederick Burnell of AK and Carl Burnell of MA and his loving sisters ,Corrine of NH and Victoria of CA and 11 cherished grandchildren and 6 cherished great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his beloved son, John D. Burnell, Jr., and his cherished daughter ,Teresa Burnell and two beloved sisters, Theresa and Sally Jo Burnell. A funeral service in celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday evening January 31, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. Seymour (Rt. 67, opposite Klarides Village). Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.
