John Clark-Ginnetti Obituary

John Clark-Ginnetti
October 4, 1977 ~ August 23, 2024
John Clark-Ginnetti, 46 of Hamden, formerly of New Haven, passed away on August 23, 2024. He was born October 4, 1977 in New London to Terri Clark. John is survived by his son, Jack Hudson Ginnetti, Antonia Ginnetti, fiancée Jennifer Kelly, Danielle Ginnetti, Ella Heron and many loving friends and colleagues.
John was a visionary leader and entrepreneur pioneering Connecticut's first cocktail bar, 116 Crown. He was an educator and lecturer at Yale College and an avid community supporter in New Haven for decades. But he was most importantly a devoted father – a baseball coach, ski buddy, and homework helper. Family meant everything to John, he valued hard work and putting those he loved first. John loved to ski with his family, volunteer at the Foote School, and participate in the Greater New Haven Community.
John attended Notre Dame High School and went on to earn a degree in finance at Quinnipiac University. He designed and taught the first full-credit mixology class in the country. For years he lectured Yale College seminars, touching the lives of hundreds of students. John taught his famous cocktail classes at the Onyx lit bar 116 Crown in the Ninth Square which received a New York Times 'excellent' twice. He was also recognized in several publications, books, and other media. Everyone who knew John benefited from his brilliant mind and enormous heart.
Family will receive friends on Thursday August 29, 2024 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven CT. All are invited to meet and attend a graveside service of Friday, August 30 at 11 a.m. in East Lawn Cemetery, 58 River Street, East Haven, CT. Please go directly to the cemetery on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to John's son, Jack Hudson Ginnetti c/o Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven to create an academic scholarship for Jack, cards will also be provided at the funeral home for donations.

John for years generously contributed to the Annual Chocolate Festival fundraiser for the Montessori School on Edgewood. Every year donating an ever more dessert creation. We looked forward to those contributions every year that helped make the event such a success. Thank you John. Eileen O'Donnell

"What the really great artists do is they're entirely themselves. They're entirely themselves, they've got their own vision, they have their own way of fracturing reality, and if it's authentic and true, you will feel it in your nerve endings."
