John Conroy Obituary

Conroy, Sr., John D.
John Daniel Conroy, Sr., age 80, of Seymour, the beloved husband of 60 years to RoseMarie Coppola Conroy, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Coachman Square in Woodbridge. He was born in Seymour on February 10, 1938, beloved son of the late Francis and Frieda Mitchell Conroy. John was a lifelong Seymour resident, a graduate of Seymour High School and a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Corp Reserves and later, his hometown of Seymour by serving on many boards and commissions. For over 25 years, he was the proud owner of Superior Systems and sold construction tools and equipment to many area companies. His sense of humor and wit was always present, and his love for the outdoors, especially his time spent fishing, was extraordinary. Most of all, though, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. John will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts.
His family includes his two loving sons, John Conroy, Jr. and his wife Dolores of Seymour and Kevin Conroy and his wife Lisa of Middlebury, his caring brothers Frank Conroy, Jr. of Seymour, Dave Conroy, Sr. of Beacon Falls and Jim Conroy of Seymour, his cherished grandchildren Christine, Jennifer, Hunter and Madison and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Conroy.
A Funeral Service in Celebration of John's Life will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour will follow. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in John's memory may be made to Constellation Health Services through the funeral home.
