John Morris Obituary

John W. Morris, 72, of North Haven and Durham was unexpectedly taken from this life on November 3, 2025. He was the husband of Alba Morris.
John was born in New Haven on September 19, 1953, the son of Walter and Ruth Morris.
John retired from Miller Fence where he worked for over 38 years. He was humble and generous. He always cared about others' needs before his own. He enjoyed cars, tractors, and antiques. John had many lifelong friends and loved family.
In addition to his wife, Alba, he is survived by his daughters, Angela Acaron and her husband, Guillermo, and Stephany Mason; his son, Shawn Morris and his partner, Rhonda J. Zawadzki; his stepdaughter, Tahia Kamp; his brother, James Morris and his wife, Cheryl; his sister, Karen Moore; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Morris.
John's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. His funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

I was in my late teens when I started working at Miller Fence with John or Mo as I call him. Despite our 20 year age gap, we became instant friends. For many years we worked side by side, laughing our way through the day and I still catch myself saying his classic phrases "I´ll tell you what" or "that´s sweet." He had a way of making work feel fun and I will forever miss the days of putting of putting up fence with my good friend. Mo was one of the kindest, funniest and most genuine people I´ve ever known and I´ll miss him deeply. My heartfelt condolences to his family and everyone who loved him.
