With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son Joseph N. "Joe Fro" Mongillo who was taken from us too soon on May 22, 2024 at the young age of 33, born on January 21, 1991 in New Haven, beloved son of Lisa Mongillo Melmed and stepson of Jared Melmed of Dayville, CT. Brother of Emily and Brandon both of Dayville, CT. Grandson of Joseph and May Webb Mongillo of New Haven. Joe is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins. At the time of his death Joe was a stocker at Stop & Shop. He was a kind, gentle soul who loved animals and riding his motorcycle.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service SATURDAY afternoon at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 372 Maple St., Danielson, CT at 12:00 p.m. Family and friends may call at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven SATURDAY morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sign Joe's guest book online at www.portofuneralhomes.net.

Joey you will be missed forever. I wish I could have said goodbye. The last time we saw each other i honestly didn´t think it would be the last. Our txt I just keep going reading.
