Julius Raflowitz
Julius (Julie) Raflowitz, 94, of West Haven, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife Mary Kay by his side on July 7, 2021. Julie was a man of great integrity, filled with kindness and was a generous soul. He was devoted to his family and friends and always saw the best in everything and everyone. He graduated from Hill House High School and proudly served in the Navy during World War II. After his service in the Navy, he opened a business with his brother-in-law Sy Koffer specializing in tv antenna installation which led to his establishing his own tv service company, Central Electronics in New Haven. Julie had a love of the water all his life and was an avid boater cruising the Long Island Sound, New York Harbor, and taking an adventurous boat trip to the Cayman Islands with his in-laws Marvin and Betty Flaks, then being boarded by armed soldiers for entering Cuban waters! He enjoyed golf every Sunday and won many a bowling tournament. Julie was predeceased by his mother and father, Louis and Pauline Raflowitz, sister and brother-in-law Ann and Simon Koffer, brother and sister-in-law Samuel and Ruth Raflowitz, and his first wife Lois Flaks. He enjoyed his time with his family. Julie is survived by his wife Mary Kay, his son Michael (Debi), his daughters Randi (James) Scott and Debra (Thomas) Clark, stepdaughter Debi (Tom) Melillo, stepson Scott Blume (partner Corrine). Also surviving are grandchildren David (Crystal) Scott, Shauna (partner David) Scott, Elizabeth Raflowitz, Lauren (fiancée Ben) Bressler, Connor Blume and Sophia Melillo, and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Abram Scott, as well as loving brothers and sisters-in-law, and adoring nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Cong. Sinia Cemetery, Farwell St. West Haven on SUNDAY morning July 11, at 11:30 o'clock. The Robert E. Shure & Son Funeral Home, New Haven is in care of Arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be sent to;American Cancer Society.
