Kasey Brann Obituary

Kasey A. Brann
Kasey A. Brann passed away at her home in Waterford on December 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer. She was the adored and resilient wife of Clifton Brann, whom she met 29 years ago and married 24 years ago.
Kasey was born on August 30, 1978, in New Haven, Connecticut, the only daughter of the late Edward Wilson and Laura Papa Wilson. She grew up in Hamden with her mother and grandmother, the late Gladys Kamienski Papa. After graduating from Hamden High School in 1996, she attended New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, where she majored in Sociology and minored in Psychology, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2000.
From an early age, Kasey showed remarkable talent and passion for horseback riding. She spent many years competing on the Arabian horse show circuit, beginning in Connecticut and then throughout New England. Her success in regional competitions led her to national and international events, where she earned numerous first-place ribbons and trophies. Her proudest achievement came in 1996 at the Canadian Nationals in Regina, Saskatchewan. Even after a knee injury forced her to step away from riding, she continued to train her beloved horse, CR Pandora, until her health made it necessary to rehome Pandora.
Kasey began working at a young age, caring for horses at the barn and working at Dunkin' Donuts. During college, she started a career in human services, working in group homes for developmentally delayed adults-work she continued for more than 15 years, ultimately earning the role of house manager. After two decades in the field, she sought a new path and transitioned to education, working as a paraprofessional for Clinton Public Schools.
Kasey loved to travel and treasured the memories and mementos she collected along the way. Her equestrian competitions took her across many states and into Canada, and her later travels brought her to England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, and France. Most recently, she and Clifton celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on a memorable trip to Paris.
Kasey is survived by her devoted husband, Clifton Brann; her aunts, Gail Bennett, Barbara Veith, Anne Giordano and Madeline Napolillo; her cousins, Lawrence Veith, Dominic and Daniel Meatty, Christopher Wilson, Michael and Jason Giordano, Andrew and Brian Napolillo; her nephews, Jonathan Veith, Andrew Brann and Conor Brann, and Owen Fencik; her nieces, Ashleigh Brann and Makayla Veith and Julie Fencik; and her loving canine companion, Jack. She was predeceased by her aunts, Janet Meatty and Kathleen Papa and uncles Lawrence Veith and Robert Wilson.
Visiting hours will be held Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Lupinski Funeral Home. Inc., 11 Wooster Place, New Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Blessed Michael McGivney Parish at St. Stanislaus Church, 9 Eld Street, New Haven, Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden.
