Kathleen Rossetti Obituary

Rossetti, Kathleen
Kathleen Ann (Cramer) Rossetti, of Evergreen Woods, North Branford, CT, passed to eternal peace with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
Dearly beloved, Kathleen ("Katie") was born on February 2, 1935, in Stonington, CT, to Alice Josephine (Maxson) and Paul F. Cramer. Her happiest childhood memories were of summers spent in Westerly, Rhode Island with the Maxson clan. Kathleen was a descendent of the Reverend John Maxson, signer of the Misquamcut Purchase in 1661 from the Indian Sachem Sosoa. Her later childhood was spent in Hartford, CT, where she attended Weaver High School.
Kathleen was married to Andrew C. Rossetti for 28 years and raised their family of three children in Cheshire, CT. She was a loving and devoted stay-at-home mom, with tireless energy for her children and their endeavors, including Farms Country Club Swim Team meets, and the constant support of her horse-crazy daughters. Kathleen was a talented golfer who also loved playing bridge, gardening, music and dance. She had a natural ability for decorating, entertaining, and floral design. She was a lifelong fan of Tony Bennett that began as a teenage crush.
Later in life, Kathleen began a diverse career on staff at Yale University. She was the Secretary to Dean Rostow at the Yale Law School, an Administrative Assistant at the School of International Studies, and finally until her retirement, a Public Relations Representative at the Yale Law School Alumni Fund.
Kathleen was later married to Paul Alpert and lived happily with him at Harbour Village in Branford, CT, until his death in 2013.
Kathleen is survived by her three children: Stephen and his wife Susan Rossetti of Windsor Locks, CT; Andrea and her husband Theodore Giletti of Nantucket, MA; and Christina and her husband Colin Hartnett of Malvern, PA; eight grandchildren: Michael, Rachel and Christian Rossetti; Olivia, Theodore, and Annabelle Giletti; and Alexandra and Genevieve Hartnett. She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul and Thomas Cramer, and her sister, Mary Arel, and is survived by her brother, David G. Cramer.
Her family is grateful for the compassionate support Kathleen received from all the staff of Evergreen Woods, and especially thankful for the loving care provided by the women of Nerisa's Home Care Services of Madison, CT.
A Catholic Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, at St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford, CT. Gifts in Kathleen's honor may be made to The Connecticut Hospice, www.hospice.com. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, is in care of arrangements. "Let nothing disturb you
Let nothing frighten you
All things are passing away
God never changes
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing
God alone suffices."

Dearest Stephen, Andrea and Christina. My deepest sympathies. Your beautiful mother was an amazing wonderful woman. I have many memories of her from our childhood. Her kindness, love and generosity were always bountiful and unwaivering. I adored her, and her cooking was really good too. I still remember her delicious beef stew! Sending love to you and your families during this difficult time. XOXOXO, Kimberly Arpaia
