Kenneth Bode Obituary

Kenneth "Curly" Bode
October 14, 2025
Kenneth "Curly" Bode passed away October 14, 2025 at home in his beloved beach cottage. The son of the late Harriet and William Bode, Kenny was the second youngest of seven children and the self-proclaimed "favorite." Kenny is survived by four siblings Marilyn (Robert Bates) Ferguson, Jack (Joan) Bode, Jim (Lynda Pantalena) Bode, and Joe (Carol Fernino) Bode; his longtime love Joanie Haggerty and her son Stephen; his two daughters Erinn (John Greco) and Annie ( Adam Fasulo); his beloved four grandchildren Amelia and Lucian Fasulo, and Emmett and Weston Greco; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Karen (Russ) Sperry and William (Fran) Bode.
Kenny was a retired Navy veteran who enjoyed the simple things in life; eating a good meal out, the Miami Dolphins, soaking up the sun, swimming at the beach, and spending time with those he loved. Kenny went by many names, Kenneth, Curly, Uncle Kenny, and Dad, but his favorite name was Caco. Bestowed upon him by his oldest granddaughter who couldn't pronounce her "P's" as an infant, Curly's greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Whether it was making them Saturday morning breakfast, attending their sporting events, chasing them with the leaf blower, or catching fish, crabs, or bugs, if he was with them, he was happy.
Kenny will always be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, kind heart, and willingness to give the shirt off his back if anyone needed it. His family will continue to live life as he did remembering that every day is a holiday and every meal a feast.
Visiting hours will take place on Friday October 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home. On Saturday morning a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John XXIII Parish AT St. John Vianney Church at 10 o'clock. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either WHEAT or to Fisher House of West Haven. To leave an online message for Curly's family, please visit our website www.westhavenfuneral.com.

I was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of my brother in law Kenneth "T!"
Kenny came into my life when I married his sister Karen.
We always looked forward to his many visits to Florida.
He was a kind and compassionate person but most importantly a devout follower of God through Jesus Christ.
Sending healing prayers to comfort the family.
"Rest in peace!"

I was shocked to read of Curly's passing. I only knew him through the Bode family but his larger-than-life-presence was obvious the first time you met him. My condolences to Joe, Carol and the rest of Curly's family.
