Dear Jeanne,
We are so saddened to hear of Lew's passing. We knew he was very ill and fighting to get better while we all prayed for his recovery. We will always remember Lew and his constant joyful personality and who could ever forget his wonderful laugh? We always enjoyed our visits with you guys either here in Florida or back in Connecticut. We especially loved hearing Lew's stories about while he was with the Hamden Police and the Federal District Court. We will miss Lew but always remember him in our hearts and minds. Please take care and our condolences to all your family. Stay in touch and we look forward to seeing you again.

Love,
Rich and Robyn

I was appointed to HPD the same night Lew was promoted to Sgt. I inherited his badge, #45, which I proudly wore for a few years. When I made Sgt., I tried to model my supervisory style after his. He was friendly and kind, yet could be firm and decisive when necessary. Lew was a wonderful role model, mentor, and friend. He will be missed greatly.

Lew was a Sgt. at HPD when I came on the job. I remember he showed me a small crucifix he wore. He said he found it in the mud while in the army. Nice man. God bless you.

Dear Boyce Family;
I was so sorry to read of Lew's passing.
I worked in Dispatch in the early 80's and knew him well.
He had a gift of adding levity to any situation, always leaving a room laughing. Even running into him throughout the years....it was impossible not to smile when you heard that booming voice call your name!
I know he will be missed.
Deepest Sympathy

Kevin & Family,
Our sincere condolences on the passing your Dad. He was a terrific guy & great
Hamden Cop. Having grown up in Hamden, we saw Lew doing community policing before it became a trend. Everybody knew him & loved the Guy. You will always have the memories to cherish.
