Lisa Mary Wambolt

WAMBOLT, LISA MARY GIOIA Lisa M. (Gioia) Wambolt, 69, of North Haven went home to our Lord in the arms of the angels on Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was the beloved wife of James H. Wambolt, together over 50 years. Lisa was born in Middletown, CT on December 21, 1943, daughter of the late Joseph and Irene Gioia. She was employed at the Hospital of St. Raphael for 35 years. In addition to her husband Lisa was the beloved mother of 2 sons, Dustin Christopher (Sandy Rabis) Wambolt of North Branford, and James Vincent (Lisa) Wambolt of Valencia, CA. 2 Cherished grandchildren, Marisa Renee and Riley Wambolt of Valencia, CA. A brother Richard T. Gioia of East Haven, sisters Nancy DiMeola (Rick Kross) of Madison, Linda Basserman of East Haven, Virginia Velardi (Joseph) of West Haven, and many nieces, nephew and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Jo Ann Proto, and sisters in law, Mary Ellen Faulkner and Ragee Ann Gioia, and brothers in law Frederick Basserman and John DiMeola. Lisa was a former member of the Jolly Timers and Ridge Road Seniors. She was in the North Haven Ceramics. She enjoyed a lot of time with her Red Hat Groups, the Ever Reddy Hatters of East Haven and the Branford Scarlett O'Hattas. The family wants to thank the Father McGivney Cancer Center for all their caring and help through this difficult time. Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 9:15. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday, from 4 to 8 pm.
