Lucy Ardito Obituary

Lucy (Esposito) Ardito
June 20, 1935 - July 22, 2024
Lucy (Esposito) Ardito, 89, of New Haven, departed this world on July 22, 2024, to join her beloved husband in heaven. She was born June 20, 1935, in New Haven, to Alphonse and Carmella (DeCapua) Esposito; and was the devoted wife of 62 years to the late John L. Ardito. Lucy is survived by her three sons: John J. Ardito (Leonora) of Florida, Ronald J. Ardito (Dina) of New Haven and Thomas J. Ardito (Joann) of Branford, along with five grandchildren she adored: John M. Ardito (Stephanie), Deanna A. Julson (Steven), Zachary F. Ardito (Jamie), Caroline L. Ardito and Ronald S. Ardito, along with eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Pasqualina (Patty) Mariano of New Haven, and nieces/nephews.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Fred Esposito.
Lucy's family was always her top priority and she loved having everyone gather in her kitchen. Early in her career, she worked as an administrative assistant at New Haven Savings Bank. Lucy was later employed by Yale University, holding several clerical and administrative positions. For more than 60 years, she was a communicant of St. Bernadette Church in New Haven. Lucy loved ballroom dancing, working in her garden, shopping for antiques, and spending time with her husband at their lakefront cottage. Upon retirement, they enjoyed traveling to Italy, Bermuda, Vermont, Texas, Florida, San Francisco, and many other places.
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, CT, at which time her procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Bernadette, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven, CT, with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery, in North Haven.

Lucy was a wonderful neighbor and I am very saddened that she passed away. She was a gentle, soft spoken sweetheart of a person. Her happiness in life was her late husband, who she missed so much and her three sons. Her family was everything to her. I will miss Lucy's little wave and our chats from time to time. She now is with her true love in heaven. How very happy she must be.
We will always think of you with great fondness.

I worked with Lucy long ago at Yale. We caught up after all these years last year and I was so grateful to see her again. She was a true blessing to all and she loved her family dearly. May she rest in God´s perfect peace and reunited with her love John.
Love and prayers to your family-
