Marie Oronzo

ORONZO, MARIE DePINO Marie DePino Oronzo, 79, of Hamden, formerly of West Haven and Coconut Creek, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2014. She was the beloved wife of William “Bill” Oronzo Sr. for 58 wonderful years. Marie was born in New Haven on March 3, 1935, to the late Frank and Pauline Virgilio DePino. She worked for many years at the former Reis Tie Company in West Haven, but was lucky enough to be a stay-at home mom when her four children were young. Her passions were cooking for her family and when younger, she, along with her husband Bill, were award winning dancers. Besides her husband she is survived by her loving children, Debbie (Vincent) Morgillo of Wallingford, William “Bill” (Jennie) Oronzo Jr. of West Haven and John (Beth Ellyn) Oronzo of New Haven; a sister, Emily Walker of Plattsburgh, NY, and a brother, Frank Depino of Guilford. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Jakubiec, Scott Morgillo, Jonathan, Marissa, Natalie, Anjelia, Rebecca and Emily Oronzo; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Glenn Oronzo. Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven, Friday morning at 8:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 9:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call THURSDAY from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
