MARILYN CONN Obituary

CONN, MARILYN BARR Marilyn Barr Conn, a former resident of Orange, passed away on March 14 at her home in Evanston, Illinois at the age of 88. Daughter of the late Jean and Joseph Barr, Marilyn was a graduate of Irvington (N.J.) High School and Montclair State Teachers College. She began her career as an English teacher and a theater director at schools in New Jersey and Connecticut prior to becoming a medical administrative assistant for the Yale Medical School. She enjoyed watching sports, writing and reading poetry, directing plays, playing bridge and telling stories about her beloved late husband, Dr. Harold O. Conn to whom she was married for 60 years. Marilyn would have been thrilled by the first NCAA tournament win ever by the Yale Men’s Basketball Team. She leaves behind her three children, Chrysanne (Richard) Vogt of Northford, Steven (Emily Resnik Conn) of Woodbridge, and Dorianne Conn (Jeff Balch) of Evanston, Illinois and six grandchildren, Jeremy, Maple, Jordan, Zephyr, Ricky and Lucy, whom she adored. She is also survived by her brother, Norman Barr (Norma) of Encino, CA and was predeceased by her brother, Sheldon (Janice). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Squash Haven, Payne Whitney Gymnasium, 70 Tower Parkway, New Haven, CT 06520

Am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was a wonderful woman and a great friend to all of us that worked in the Athletics Department at Yale U. Our sincere thoughts go to the entire Conn family
