MARK MEISTE Obituary

MESITE, MARK NICHOLAS Meriden: Mark Nicholas Mesite, 63, left us unexpectedly and entered eternal life with our Lord on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Midstate Medical Center. Mark was born May 28, 1953 to (the late) George R. Mesite and to Rosalie (Perone) Mesite of Meriden, CT. Born and raised in Meriden, Mark attended Platt High School before graduating from the University of Miami with a degree in business. Upon returning to Meriden, Mark partnered with his family owning and operating the Villa Capri Restaurant and Banquet facility in Wallingford, CT, Peoples Restaurant franchises in Florida and Boston Chicken (now Boston Market) in West Hartford, CT. Additionally, he earned his CT Realtors license and joined a brokerage company in Rocky Hill for several years. He owned, renovated and sold several homes in the Litchfield area. During those ventures, Mark continued to partner with his family opening and operating Giorgio Jewelers, and the historic Yankee Silversmith Inn, both located in Wallingford, CT. More recently Mark was a partner in the Sonic of CT Restaurant Franchises. Mark attended classes in New York City to earn his certification at the Gemology Institute of America, Inc. (GIA). Mark was invited and participated in the Twenty-third Annual Les Amisd’Escoffier Society Dinner of CT. Mark had an amazing life. He enjoyed traveling, especially to England and Italy. He participated and won several Karate events and completed Reiki Level 1. He had a passion for exotic cars and enjoyed driving his De Tomaso Mangusta, Maserati and his loved Jalpa Lamborghini. He enjoyed Broadway shows, especially the Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. He was a speed reader and enjoyed numerous books of varying subjects traversing from the Titanic to specialty recipes, business opportunities and legal publications. He was a true fan of the classic films of the 40s and 50s golden era. Mark had the privilege of growing up surrounded by a very close, fun and loving family including his numerous great-aunts and uncles and his many cousins. He often mentioned that from a child to an adult, there was no greater gathering than Christmas Eve at great-Aunt Lucy’s and great-Uncle Frank unfinished basement filled with 1940s decorations and lights with the wonderful aroma of Aunt Lucy’s famous pasta with clam sauce, the sounds of pure laughter and the warmth of family love. Mark is survived by his beloved family including his mother, Rosalie F. Mesite of Meriden, his brother, Ralph Mesite and sister-in-law, Kim Mesite of Wallingford, his sister, Gina Mesite Mueller and brother-in-law, Carl Mueller of Southington, his brother, Robert Mesite and sister-in-law, Karen Mesite of South Windsor. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Ralph Mesite III, Trevor Mesite, Kyle Mueller, Preston Mueller, Micaela Mesite, Connor Mesite, and Tara Rose Burhoe. Mark is also survived by many loving cousins and friends, especially his best friend from high school, Juan Matos. Mark is survived by his one true love, friend and soul mate of 40 years, Marilyn Fuda of West Hartford. Mark is pre-deceased by his loving grandparents, Anthony and Marion Perone, Nicola and Marietta Mesiti and by his uncles, Anthony Perone, Ilario Placanico and his aunt, Teresa Mesite Puglisi. Mark was one of those rare men who seem to naturally have the right essence. He was an entrepreneur with a brilliant mind. He was a man of strong principles, honesty and character. He had an enormous sense of humor. He was an extremely generous individual with a large loving heart. He will greatly be missed and never forgotten by so many. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451. Burial will be private.
