It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Mark Joseph Parisi, of Branford, who died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the age 78, surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born in New Haven, CT, on March 19, 1948, the son of the late Joseph Paul and Nell Ottenbreit Parisi, and later resided in Branford from 1972 until his death.
Mark is survived by his three children, Maegan B. (Frank) Barucci of Fairfield, Mark J. (Kelly) Parisi, Jr. of Branford, and Matthew R. Parisi of New Haven; his former wife of 37 years, Betsy Lou Parisi, of Bluffton, SC; his five grandchildren, Mark J. Parisi, III, James A. Parisi, Maria J. Parisi, Caterina I. Parisi, Kayla G. Parisi; and his step-grandchildren, Francesca M. Barucci and Gabriella P. Barucci. He is also survived by his sister, Neile P. Parisi; brother, Michael P. (Ann) Parisi; and nephews, Michael P. Parisi, Jr., and Joseph L. Parisi.
Mark graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven in 1966, where he served as captain of the track team and competed in discus and shot put. Mark began his career at Pratt & Whitney, where he worked on the Apollo 11 spacecraft program, fabricating sheet metal. He later became a Master Plumber and with his son, Matthew, built and operated a successful family-owned plumbing business until retiring in 2018.
Our dad was a strong man in every sense of the word - strong in spirit, strong in character, and strong in the love he gave to his family. He was exceptionally hardworking and spent his life providing for us, protecting us, and showing his love in quiet, steady ways every day. His strength, love, and dedication shaped our lives in more ways than words can express. He will be missed beyond measure and loved forever.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church in Branford, with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, in North Haven.
