I count myself as honored to have served with then LT Carpenter in 3-7 Cavalry during OIF III. What struck me most about him was his no nonsense, cut to the chase, get the job done approach to his mission. Be thou at peace, Matt.

It was an honor and privilege to have served with Matt. We arrived at 3-7 CAV at the same time and grew up in the CAV as PL's. I am at a loss for words and all I can say is that my thoughts and prayers are with the family.
