Michael Paul DeRosa, of East Haven passed away November 15, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Stephanie Ferraro DeRosa and son of the late Vincent DeRosa and Kathleen Carroll Donovan. He is the proud father of Danielle DeRosa (Justin Evanovich) and Gabrielle DeRosa (Zachary Renihan) and stepfather of Robert DiRienzo, Vincent Coker and Terese Coker. Brother of Gloria Lorusso, Lisa DeRosa and the late Nicholas, Vincent and John DeRosa. Papa to Max and Myles Evanovich, who he proudly bragged about at every opportunity. Outside of his immediate family, Michael had a large circle of those who he loved and supported.
Growing up in New Haven's Morris Cove, Michael and his siblings were fondly known and affectionately recognized. The relationships he built early in his life served as a solid foundation for lifelong friendships. Michael loved getting to know people-whether to give a TV or movie recommendation, strike up a sideline conversation at his grandsons' sporting events, or engage someone with his signature opener, "Let me ask you something…" he could spark a conversation wherever he went. A true foodie, Michael loved exploring local restaurants and sharing his personal review with anyone willing to listen. He also loved riding his Harley-especially on warm, sunny days when the wind and open road brought him pure joy.
Remembered for natural ability to connect with people and enduring love for family, he leaves behind countless lives that were brightened by his love and friendship.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina parish at St. Bernadette Church, 355 Townsend Ave. in New Haven. Please meet directly at Church.
