Michael Dorsi Obituary

Michael Lawrence Dorsi, Jr., age 57, of West Haven, CT, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2023. Born in New Haven, CT, to Michael Lawrence Dorsi, Sr. (Eleanora), and the late Linda Kay MacVeigh Dorsi. He is also survived by his loving sister, Lorinda Ann Potter (Carl Watrous) of Preston, CT, and his two beloved nephews, D. Patrick Potter II (Kim DelVecchio) of Seymour, CT, and Sean Michael Potter of New York, NY. Michael also leaves behind his caring aunts, Karen MacVeigh of Guilford, CT and Nancy Smith of Trussville, AL. Michael was a graduate of Shelton High School class of 1984 and Connecticut School of Electronics. He dedicated more than three decades to Metro North, carrying on a legacy paved by his father and grandfathers before him. He was the best friend, the loudest laugh, the softest hug and the biggest heart in any room he walked into. He will be remembered by the countless friends he made in his many adventures, on and off his Harley. He will now Rest In Peace alongside his beautiful mother.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 4 from noon to 4pm at the West Haven Funeral Home. Remembrances begin at 3 pm. To leave an online message for Michael's family, please visit our website www.westhavenfuneral.com

Dear Dorsi Family
I was saddened to hear of Michael´s passing. I remember his smile his gregarious ways and his hugs
My daughter Susan cried when she found out that he passed. While 4 years younger he was a great friend to her and my son Michael. When Dottie passed away in December 2013 Michael braved a snowstorm to pay his respects. He had a heart of gold and leaves a wonderful legacy. We lovingly described him as " Baby Shark " after my best friend another large friend Bill "Shark" Wrinn Rest in Peace Michael We love you

Where do I begin...I have known Mike for over 30 years, as a friend and co-worker. What I remember most was his kind ways. He was always available to help in any way possible. For example, when my 85-year-old mother fell, he rushed over to gingerly help me get her off the floor, and other occasions that are too numerous to mention. He always remembered birthdays, "Happy birthday, love you bud". His laugh and huge hugs were so warm and welcoming. He has a special place in my heart and he will never be forgotten. The railroad family has lost another dear soul. Our deepest sympathy to Mike Dorsi, Sr. and family.

Dearest Family, Michael a great friend of our son, David Gombos, while we were living in White Hills Shelton CT. He was always polite, gregarious, & w bits of wisdom, beyond his years, as w look back. Very Happy he was a great friend to our son!! And his many buddies in White Hills feeling your loss & so few words for your loss. We do know he cherished the legacy of his Dad & grandfather w the Rails. Special. Well, the caption says, share a memory, and 36 years it´s so hard, because I have millions of memories with you. He had a jolliest laugh, the greatest smile, and the biggest heart. I often said you could´ve never been a little guy because your heart would´ve never fit in another body all my Fourth of July parties all my children´s milestones, all the Heineken´s in the Screenhouse, and all your famous one-liners, one of them being " I´m on my way" when in actuality, you´re sitting in the Screenhouse having a hide again with Murph. Anybody and everybody who knew you loved you. You will forever be a staple in my life as you know my mom arrived in heaven a month ago, so please go give her the biggest hug, and make sure you see my brother and Chuckie, and Val, but you could do all that after you go and embrace your own mom.
