Michael Klimas, 83, beloved husband of Susan Quinn Klimas of Branford for 61 years, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Autumn Lake Nursing Facility in Madison after a long illness. Mike was born in New Haven, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Laich Klimas, and a brother of the late Joseph Klimas. He was the father of Daniel Klimas, Nancy (Ian) Hobbs, and Bill (Tamara) Klimas of Branford, and grandfather of Nicole (Drew) Morrison, Jaryd Hobbs and Michaela Hobbs. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Priscilla Quinn and Barbara Klimas. Mike retired after 30 years working for SNET. His two greatest loves after his family were boating and fishing. He was a member of the Branford Yacht Club for the past 54 years where he was very active prior to his illness. Mike was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford. Mike's family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Lake and Connecticut Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to him during his final days.
Visiting hours are Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church, 731 Main St., Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. hi I"m old friehd many years ago @ bfd point park etc . hope all of you can handle the loss of Mike since so many of the old gang have passed away. sorry that I couldn't attend the wake because of the wx. and the drive fromm N of hartford. I still get to bfd to visit other old friends and someday I hope I can see you and offer personal condolances.iIn the meantime my prayers are being offered with Joemike Bob QuinnStu and Betsey and all others.

Mike was a neighbor of mine growing up on Goodsell Point Rd. I remember when he and Sue built their house on the corner, next to his mother's house. Though older than I was and not in my immediate circle of friends, I always knew him to be a good guy and devoted family man. I'm sending my deepest sympathies to his family, especially his lovely wife, Sue.
