Mike was a good friend of my family and to me, an "uncle", my entire life. I always enjoyed his stories and jokes. I remember several times he took me to some of his job sites and taught me about electrical work. I will miss our weekly calls over the years that we had. He is at home now living with the light of and love of God.

We met Mike through his sister Ella. After she died we would go to his house after church on Sunday and discuss the events of the week . He called it chirping. He was a good listener and non-judgemental. Even his visiting nurses would stay and chirp a bit. He will always be in my heart and I will miss him very much .

Mike was a character like no other...he was funny and determined and interested in other people, he made dinner every night and took care of himself and the house almost until the end, and he was a very, very good friend to my parents (and to me and my brother.) He and my father used to check in by phone almost every day, and he assured me he would try to stay around for my mom for a while after my dad died - and he did. It's hard to imagine him not being around - a lot of people are going to miss him. Sending wishes of comfort to Cathy and his family.

My Dad was a wonderful loving, proud and generous man who had many friends that were like family to him. I pray he is at peace and without pain or suffering. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. He will always be in my heart.
