Mildred Sholtys Obituary

Mildred G. Sholtys
April 27, 1932 - September 7, 2025
Mildred (Millie) Sholtys, 93, of Ansonia, passed away on September 7, 2025, at Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Shelton. She was the wife of the late Peter Sholtys. Millie was born in Derby, CT, on April 27, 1932. She grew up in Seymour, and was a 1950 graduate of Seymour High School. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Florine (Wheeler) DeGeorge of Seymour, and her brother, C. Paul DeGeorge of Beacon Falls. Millie is survived by her daughters, Pauline Sholtys and Darlene Sholtys, both of Ansonia, and several nieces and nephews. Millie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ansonia, a longtime member of the Ansonia Garden Club, and volunteered at the Ansonia Nature Center. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, and traveling; taking many bus trips around the United States and Canada, and especially loved visiting coastal Maine. She also loved animals and, over the years, had several cherished dogs and cats. Special thanks to the staff at Bishop Wicke for their kind care. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT, has been entrusted with her arrangements and services will be private, at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Millie's memory can be made to any animal shelter or rescue of your choice, or to the K.I.N.D. Fund, to provide desks for students in Malawi, at https://www.unicefusa.org/kind-desks .
