Mindy Schwartzman Obituary
Mindy Schwartzman, 67, formerly of Hamden, CT, passed away suddenly on November 3, 2022. She had recently retired to Delray Beach, FL.
Mindy is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Alan; her mother, Audrey Kushner; loving children, Brad Schwartzman, Jayme (Andrew) Amarone and Jodi (Michael) Nero; adored grandchildren, Luciana, Bence, Nicholas, Dominic, Jordan, Maximino and Christopher; and cherished siblings Jerome Kushner and Deborah (Andrew) Alpert. Mindy is predeceased by her father, Eugene Kushner.
Mindy dedicated much of her professional life as a teacher in New Haven—a second career that led her away from computers and towards inspiring children. She enjoyed gardening, golf, a sunny day by the pool and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Mindy lived for her family and cherished the life she built with them. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, especially her loved ones.
Services are in care of Robert E. Shure Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at B'nai Jacob Cemetery on Wednesday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m. in New Haven, Connecticut, where Mindy will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a scholarship fund for New Haven students being set up on Mindy's behalf. Donations can be sent to Jayme Amarone at 54 Highland Park Rd., North Haven, CT 06473.
Family and friends may pay their respects to the family during Shiva hours, Thursday 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., and Friday 12-4 p.m., which will be held at Jodi and Michael Nero's house at 25 Philson Ct., Cheshire, CT.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Mindy.
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Mindy during my career in the New Haven Public School System.
She was tireless in her efforts to provide high quality educational experiences for those students lucky enough to be under her direction.
Mindy developed high quality lessons that challenged her students and prepared them for lifetime pursuits.

Mindy had a way of always making you feel like everything was going to be OK. One phrase I can hear her saying is "not to worry, ok?" One of a kind and always loved being in her company. No matter the chaos in the home growing up with all of the kids and friends coming in and out she always made you feel special, comfortable, and for me- at home. Such a big heart that she has passed on to her kids. She will be missed. Love you and thinking of you so much Jayme, Brad, Jodi, and Alan.
