Peter Cappella Obituary
February 20, 1956 - June 19, 2021
Peter D. Cappella, 65, of Branford passed away June 19, 2021 at his home. Beloved son of the late Victor and Dorothy Martley Cappella. Loving brother of Denise Cappella of Branford, Daniel Cappella and David Cappella and his wife JoAnn Falato, all of Hamden. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Peter was born in New Haven on February 20, 1956. He was a graduate of Hamden High School and Southern CT State University. He served in the Army in Colorado and in Korea where he was Captain of the United Nations Hockey team. He was an avid N.Y. Giants fan.
Services will be held in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80), Friday morning at 11:00. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery in Hamden. Friends may call FRIDAY MORNING from 9:00-11:00. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org. Pete was a wonderful person, he was a great friend a fellow soldiers in the Engineers (Bridge Company) who I and many others trusted our lives with.
Pete was adventurous, afraid of no challenges, and a true American Patriot who loved this country like no other. Pete's sense of humor made those hard time in the military so much easier to handle.
He is my friend, a brother and a fellow U.S. Army Engineer (River Rat). God Bless and Pete your with the Lord now, please watch over all of us.
