Pete was a fine man, a good person to work for, and an exemplary father. I am very saddened for the entire Sagar Family for the loss of Pete. He will be sorely missed. He was one heck of a softball player, and I have many memories of him hitting homers to win us many games. May he rest in Peace, and his may family find solace in his having lived a life that was meaningful to so many people.

I played baseball and soccer at OLOV with Pete so many years ago.Used to be in Cub Scouts with him and fond memories of going to his house on Hillside Ave for den meetings.Everyone liked and respected Pete.I have not seen Pete in decades but I have viewed the photo gallery here and you could see a lot of love in this family.My condolences to Pete's entire family.

Pete was a special guy who,loved his family very much. A true friend of mine; True friends are hard to find, so when you loose one, your heart breaks. Pete always had an ear for me as we often talked about our kid's and families. With all of lifes' challenges he always kept upbeat and saw the positive in things. I admired him for that. I'll miss him and our conversations. I'll keep all of you in my prayers and i will look up to the heavens as i continue to have my conversations with Pete. I will see him again some day.

Beth, Jennifer, and Christopher, My heart is breaking for you all! I am truly saddened that such a good man is gone way too soon. I had the good fortune of working for Pete for 3 1/2 years. He made coming to work a pleasure, not a chore. He was such a kind, sensitive, caring, humorous man, with a huge heart. I fondly remember his love of gardening and working in his yard, and his passion for cooking, but mostly I remember his love for his family. He truly loved and cherished Beth and their life together. He used to say that she was an angel on earth. We often shared stories of our children and their triumphs - he was most certainly a proud papa! Over 30 yrs ago Beth, Pete and I worked together at Old New York, Beth and I on the floor and of course Pete in the kitchen. Pete had a way of making the worst meal taste world class, just as he was. Years have past and we haven't often seen each other but the thoughts of all the great times will never fade.
Jen & Chris you are better for the time you had with yr Dad although WAY to short he's was a very special person. Beth there are no words…

Beth , Jen and Chris - My heart is heavy for you . Pete was a wonderful , kind man . Many years ago it was my anniversary and My husband Michael can't cook at all , I mean not even boil water. He asked Pete to come up to our house , while I was out , and make dinner for us for so we can have a special dinner . He came over and cooked up a storm of wonderful food , served us and then left so we can celebrate our anniversary together. Now that is a true, kind friend. The world was a better place because of him!!!

I have know pete for some 28 years or so
we have not seen each other in quite some time , we became friends when pete i both worked @ the Burroughs corp back in the early 1980.
After starting to pete , I felt he was a great guys & shared much of the same interests that I shared, one of those was softball .
I asked pete to play on our soft ball team & all I can picture is peter parking the ball over the fense in that short right field porch @ lower painter park.
I have other memories of pete & they are all fond , my heart goes out to Beth & his children ,as well as the the rest of his family, you never explain why a person so young gets taken from us so suddenly, my thoughts & prayers are with
