Phyllis Theresa Scaglione, 85, of West Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Haven, Connecticut on April 5, 1940, she was the devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Constantinople.
Phyllis proudly served her country in the United States Navy for three years and remained deeply proud of her service throughout her life.
Following her honorable discharge, she worked as a bookkeeper for Southern New England Telephone before dedicating herself to raising her family, a role she cherished most. Later in life, Phyllis returned to work as a school lunch aide at Mackrille Elementary School in West Haven, where she was known for her kindness and friendly spirit.
Active in her community, Phyllis was a dedicated member of several senior clubs in West Haven, where she generously shared her time and talents as treasurer.
Phyllis found joy in the simple pleasures of life-shopping, playing bingo, visiting the casino to try her luck at the slot machines, and relaxing while watching her favorite court shows. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, who will forever remember her warmth and unwavering love.
She is survived by her sons, Frank Scaglione; Christopher Scaglione and his wife, Megan; and John Scaglione and his wife, Heather; her beloved grandson, Nicholas Scaglione; her brother, John Constantinople; her sister, Teresa Tanner and her husband, Leonard; her sister-in-law, Roberta Constantinople; and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Frank Scaglione; her parents, Joseph and Amelia Constantinople; and her brother, Ralph Constantinople.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Phyllis' caregiver, Shana Alexis, for the compassion, care, and companionship she provided.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Keenan Funeral Home in West Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 15th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church in West Haven. Burial will be held privately.
