Richard A. McQuilton
Richard A. McQuilton, age 78, of Seymour, beloved husband of Frances Kupsik, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by loving family, following a long illness. Rich was born in Bridgeport on May 16, 1947, to the late Alexander and Eva (Beauchene) McQuilton and had been a long-time area resident. He was a graduate of Bullard Havens Technical High School, class of 1965. Rich was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and was a retired foreman for SBC Telecommunications. Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife and partner of 50 years, include his devoted siblings, Kenneth (Bunnie) McQuilton, Sandra Erickson; sister-in-law, Mary Ann McQuilton, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends, Joanne, David, Rachael and Billy. In addition to his parents, Rich was pre-deceased by his brother, William; and brother-in-law, Rod. The family would also like to thank the compassionate care given to Rich by the doctors and nurses during his hospital stays at both Griffin Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital. Visitation on Wednesday, January 28th, from 10-11:30a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, with prayers at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a donation in memory of Richard to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
