Richard Wainman Obituary

Richard Wainman
April 27, 1934 - October 1, 2024
Mesquite, NV - Richard Wainman, 90, went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2024. He was born April 27, 1934, in Buffalo, NY to Arvida Mae Voorhees and Lleweln (Buster) Howden Wainman. He was married to Carol Lee Wainman for 60 wonderful years. He had one brother, Robert Lleweln Wainman.
Dick was raised in western New York and attended Penn State University and the University of Buffalo. He also earned several certificates and degrees in the insurance industry. Prior to his career in financial planning, he was a proud member of the United States Army. He started his career in management with the Travelers Insurance company and went on to become partner with his own successful company, Connecticut Associates, where he fostered many great relationships for several years. His passions were running, skiing, tennis, golf, and Buffalo Bills football. One of his most satisfying ventures was co-founding the Branford Road race with dear friend, Ray Figlewski. He completed several marathons and skied all over the east and west coasts. His honesty, dedication, and passion for his friends and family was unmatched. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, his son, Robert, and his three incredible grandchildren, Lexi Wainman, Hannah Wainman, and Robbie Wainman.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled at the First Baptist Church in Mesquite, NV on November 16, 2024, at 2pm.
